When creators share original pieces of work, they expect viewers on the Internet to provide a response to the work. If people respond negatively to the work, then the meme becomes irrelevant and is disregarded by the community. However, if the meme is able to gain traction by being adopted in the meme community, others will reproduce these images and produce new variations of the original meme.
